Half-Anniversary

Today I got flowers...delivered straight to work. Three bold red roses with all the accents...and all because he wanted to show how much he doesn't regret his decision made just 6 months ago!

The running joke at the water cooler was that he may not remember the 6 year anniversary when it comes around but they don't know him like I do;-) I was grinning like a Cheshire cat all day and I just couldn't wait to share!

We've been married 6 months to the day and it feels like the never-ending dream. We are living, we are loving and it is complete bliss. Getting to know my wonderful husband and evolving myself in the role of wife.

This blog is a celebration of matrimony. We chose the "Elopement Package" and although it was unconventional and not what everyone else would have us do, we would go back and do it the same way again...over and over again! It was our perfect way to make our official, and it worked for us!

And why has it taken me so long to write about it? Well, it's taken me this long to accept the views of others when it comes to what is and what is not acceptable, as it pertains to what they view to be the way to marry. That little cultural exchange year I spent in Switzerland taught me that it is our differences that most frighten us and lead us to disagree - sometimes at enormous costs. We need to try a little harder, not necessarily to fully understand one another, but to grow into the enlightenment, that every one has a different point of view, and that is what enriches the human race.

When I was in primary school, I used to love quoting quotations by unknown people, and I was absolutely in awe of some of the grand wisdom that just a phrase could contain, so tonight, I leave you with this, Knowledge may be Power, and Ignorance may be Bliss, but "Perception is Everything".
